How it works

• Applicants Must…
  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Be a dependent child of a Coon Valley Telephone customer
  • Be accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Online classes do not qualify.
  • Have at least a “C” accumulative grade point average.  Please note this is not a scholarship based on a 4.0 average, but awarded to deserving students whose academic credentials fall within an average to above -average range.
  • Express an interest to work in a rural community following graduation.
• How to Apply
  • Applications can be obtained by…
    • Picking up at Coon Valley Telephone Business Office in Menlo (516 Sherman St Menlo, IA 50164).
    • Picking up at the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Orient (114 S Broad St, Orient, IA 50858)

  • Complete the scholarship application in full.
  • Return Application to Coon Valley Telephone Business Office by April 12^th, 2024 @ 12:00 noon.  No late applications will be accepted.
• Award Procedure
  • Winner will be selected by an independent qualified committee.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on a one-time basis and will not be renewable
  • Award will be paid upon proof of registration at an institute of higher education, and will be payable after the completion of the first semester.
  • Scholarship will be awarded without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, or disability.
  • Incomplete application will not be considered.
